Meals and Resources for Unhoused Individuals
Our Code Blue wintertime emergency sheltering season may be over, but not our ministry of reaching out to our unhoused neighbors and guests. If you're unhoused in Upper Bucks, we invite you to come join us for a simple homemade dinner at our Upper Bucks Code Blue Shelter (on the first floor of the Quakertown Masonic Lodge @ 501 W. Broad St. in Quakertown) on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6:00-7:00 PM. Besides having a good homemade meal, you'll receive welcome hospitality, a chance to restock on basic supplies, and a chance to connect with your fellow guests. (And you can either eat at the shelter or take out your meal-- though you're certainly welcome to sit down and rest a while. For those really hot days, our space will even be air- conditioned.)
Our next dinner is coming up tomorrow evening, June 11, 6:00-7:00 PM at the shelter. Come and join us!
Pennridge FISH is glad to recommend the Synergy Project, a wonderful street outreach program of Valley Youth House intended for youth ages 12-21.
They offer assistance to runaways, homeless, nomadic and street youth.
Synergy Project workers and volunteers can offer survival supplies (food, clothes, hygienic products, sleeping bags, tents, tarps, etc.); peer support; information & referral services; and assistance to get off the streets, if desired.
Youth do not have to give their names, and there are no strings to receiving help.
The Bucks County street outreach cell number is 215-990-3962.
Valley Youth House Shelter may be reached 24 hours a day by calling 215-442-9760.
